Jason Freake: Guitars, Bass, Vocals Bob Mills:Drums, Lyrics

In Oct of 2007, Jason Freake got fed up... ...with periodically writing solo music of varying styles. He decided that more regular writing sessions with another musician would be more fulfilling. Knowing that Bob Mills played drums, he made a call to this former co-worker to see if it would be a good collaborative fit. The musical influences of the pair seemed to overlap about 50-60% with Jason leaning toward screams/growls/blast beats and Bob leaning toward edgy vocals/hard rock riffs. The thing that they both liked was the heaviness and complexity of the music buried within what some would call, piles of noise. The Monday night jams in Jason's garage and subsequently, the music project called "the Muted Pitch", was born. For about 12 months, tMP recorded countless ideas covering many areas of metal. About 1 year after inception, tMP found the sound and style that was natural and pleasing to the guys. This started as a project that had no real goals and was essentially a creative outlet for 2 musicians that worked day jobs in an office. It wasn't until they were starting to feel happy with the overall sound and crafting of the tunes that they considered the larger goal of giving back to the metal community. They moved the Monday jams into the home studio located in Jason's basement dubbed "the Muted Pit" and started thinking about their first album. They poured over the past year of material and recorded more ideas until they came up with the skeletal structure of the 13 tracks to be on their first album. "the First 13" came together as a result of Jason and Bob pushing each other, working together, frequently tweaking the overall sound and feeling comfortable with calling the final product complete. The current intent of this band is to never compromise the musical style that they feel is true to them.They make music that is satisfying to them with the hope that others will enjoy it as well. They give away digital downloads of the music in order to expand the metal scene that has entertained them and been a part of them for years. With one album behind them, they are looking forward to working on material for the second. About Jason Freake: Guitars, Bass, Vocals Jason started playing guitar over 20 years ago and started drumming over 5 years ago. He has been involved with sound recording for as long as he has been playing. He is self taught in all areas He has a passion for any type if music that is aggressive in nature and has force/emotion behind it. About Bob Mills: Drums, Lyrics Bob has been playing various forms of percussion for over 35 years. He has been playing guitar/bass for 3 years. He has been trained and has trained others in percussion and is self taught in guitar/bass He has a passion for any type of music that makes you think and has the raw power to move you. After the release of the bands first album "the First 13" we have gained a new member, Trevor Kohout, who brings 20 years of bass guitar experience to the group and who will be covering the bass tracks on the next upcoming album. - "Without music there would be silence!"
