TeddyBallet are an Irish band from County Donegal in Ireland. Formed in the Summer of 2009 and consisting of Nigel Hegarty, Paul McGuinness, Kevin Monaghan, and Michael Warren, TeddyBallet have have come on absolute leaps and bounds in their first year together and indeed in the past 6 months. They have put together a full set of original material in such a short space of time after starting out as a cover band.
Except for Michael (who's originally from England), they all grew up in Donegal in Ireland. Through friends they came to know each other over the course of the last year or so. Having only been together for less than a year the band have accomplished so much: making it to the finals in a Donegal battle of the bands competition in the late Summer 09 (after only practising together since May or so), and since have written an impressive amount of their own material. Practising a lot more frequently, and in such a short peroid of time have become quite unique in developing their own musical sound and genre.
They are known more for an energetic live performance and extravagant guitars and drumming and relatively longer songs blending together in a musical fusion much alike bands seen in the 60's/70's which indeed is where most of the bands main influence comes from with the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Muse, Kyuss, Amplifier, Metallica, Primus, Queens of the Stone age, Focus and Rory Gallagher being big influences in their music. As a set genre the boys could be classified as a modern Heavy Progressive Rock band alike Opeth, Dream Theater and Amplifier. The boys are on course now to record and produce themselves their debut album which hopefully will be ready before summer for general release. The band are renowned for their unique style, unique sound, and such a varied amount of genres varying from soft rock, to heavy rock, to blues, to psychedelic whilst playing live.
