Silent Slave were formed in 2001 with a vision to create the best Thrash Metal in the UK. After finding their foundations through various member and directional changes, they have become five; Thomas Swindells (Vox), Neil Richards (Lead Guitar), Andy Hughes (Rhythm Guitar), Jake Lockett (Bass) and Paul Fenton (Drums).
As a band, influences include Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Testament, Metallica, Pantera and Ronnie James Dio, with this it was easy to find a sound that sets us apart from our heroes while taking their music into consideration and at the same time not simply copying their legacy. Within one year of reforming and recording their first EP at Hell's Ditch (Silent Slave), the band have opened for popular metal acts in the Manchester area such as FIGMO at The Manchester Academy, and gained many fans in the area. After only one Manchester appearance, Silent Slave were asked to Headline their own Metal Night with Vman Promotions at Jabez Clegg with a massive five Support Bands over a night dedicated to quality new music. At this event Silent Slave had a special guest Introduction from the incredibly popular and well known UNCLE ROTTER (Bloodstock Unsigned Winners) upon hearing the debut EP.
The ever growing fanbase have been treated to independently made DVD's and new material on a consistently fresh basis. Now Silent Slave are looking to the future, to becoming the greatest, most popular metal band they can become. In the sights of the band are the many Alternative Festivals held around the country, playing as regularly as possible in as many places as possible and becoming the band that people want to support, follow and most importantly, listen to.
