It all began in 2000, when Alireza (lead guitar-vocal) founded the band "death switch" (now known as Point of Death) as a progressive death/thrash metal project in IRAN (Mashhad) that covered tracks of great bands like Kreator, Metallica, Death and Slayer. After a month of so he asked Amin to play bass and Danial Kooshki to play rhythm guitar.

In the beginning, it was Alireza and Amin who wrote and composed the music. In that time they used drum programming samples and they recorded ten tracks after 2 years but they didn't like the drum programming because they thought that didn't sound professional!! And that is why they contacted Shahrooz to join their band as a drummer to do their underground live acts in Mashhad twice a year. Then Shahrooz decided to leave Point of Death because he wanted the band to go in a different direction. Ashkan also left the band for personal reasons, and then he left Iran and moved to Turkey.

In 2003 the original members of the band Ali (lead/vocal), Amin (bass) and Danial (rhythm guitar) recorded their 10 track album. After they recorded their first album the band sought a good death/thrash vocalist and Hamed joined the band for 3 tracks as a test. Hamed didn't work out and was forced to left band. Ali joined the band as a bass guitarist.

The band has worked hard to record their new album named, "Break the Cross". Eight months later, Ali (bass) left the band for his own personal reasons and Point of Death stopped operating for 3 months. In 2006 Point of Death got another new bassist, Roozbeh and the band achieved their current formation.

They had performed an underground death metal concert on Friday the 16th December 2006 to show the power of the new band. In that gig the band played all seven of their tracks from the album, alongside three cover tracks from some great metal bands like Sepultura, Death and Metallica.

Point of Death was the first to actually encompass those bands within a style, and to establish themselves as kings of the genre in Iran/ Mashhad. In their last few albums they have worked alongside Zurvan Records label Company. This band with 3 members are working hard on new albums!
