LOCKIN were formed in 2008 when original line-up Dave Battle, Martin Hills and Dan Iredale found themselves at a loose end, eager to get back on the live scene after their previous bands all came to an end around the same time. The idea was to start a band, without pre-deciding on any genre or style and see how our influences worked together to create 'our' sound, no covers, no ego's and minimal effects were the only boundaries we set ourselves at the beginning.... The raw, powerful and melodic thrash sound you hear today was the product of all our (very) different influences and its a sound we chose to stick with. Ben Dickinson (also 'plague of angels') stepped in to take over on bass at the back end of 2010 and proved a valuable member of the band early on, learning the set with great ease and managing to put his stamp on the songs. The band have begun to receive bookings on higher profile gigs, including opening for InMe in January this year and have recently won a place at the regional finals of Live and Unsigned. Mart was offered a job drumming for a band in Egypt for 3 months and is due to set off to the land of the Pharaohs in the next few weeks. keep your eye on this band in 2011 big things are coming!!!
