Legacy of Disorder come, for the most part, from New Zealand, where lead guitarist Rana Freilich began jamming with Jason Keill in 2001 and later vocalist James Robinson in 2005 to shape their own brand of metal. In 2008 the band headed to Dallas, Texas, where, under the guidance of producer Sterling Winfield (Pantera; Damageplan; Hellyeah) they recorded their self-titled album “Legacy of Disorder”, recruiting drummer Matt Thompson in the process.
In February 2009 Legacy of Disorder headed back to Texas to do a 3 month promotional Tour and Started on their next album with four new tracks being recorded at Nomad studios. L.O.D. then returned home for 2 months, and after a short tour of New Zealand returned to Texas in August for another month long promotional tour. While in the U.S Legacy of Disorder also made two video clips at Chaotic Studio’s with director Clark Deal. In early 2010 Legacy of Disorder went across to Melbourne, Australia to record another track for their next album with established producer/songwriter John Foreman at Sing Sing Studios. Legacy of Disorder also released “Façade”, one of the videos created by Clark Deal at Chaotic Studios, Oklahoma which has been nominated for 2010 Best metal video for the New Zealand “Juice T.V. Awards“. Legacy of Disorder embarked on a second New Zealand “Tour of Disorder” on June 2010, And were also part of Andre Vegas’ “Circus of Horrors” at the opening of the Theatre Royale in Nelson.
At the moment the boys are in the studio getting the new album together and are also in the process of getting a new video clip made. Legacy of Disorder have been working solidly to get their sound out to the world and are now preparing to do just that with a full radio campaign preparing in the U.S. for their upcoming single "This Time". These kiwis from Auckland are preparing set the world ablaze with a sound that has been compared to that of Pantera meets old school Slayer (and a bit of Devildriver).
