Jesse O'Neal, Adam Johnson and Jeff Pertz formed Faith in Ashes in 2004. Originally, their music was geared in a melodic, Opeth-esque direction but as the members wrote together and learned from each others' influences, their writing progressed and grew to include more technical passages and take on a unique sound of its own. After recruiting drummer Justin Valletta, the writing took a darker turn and Faith in Ashes found themselves on the path to melodic, progressive black metal. With the recent addition of Greg Meckley, a 18-year old musical prodigy skilled in piano, guitar, bass, drums, and violin, the final, missing symphonic element made Faith in Ashes complete.

Faith in Ashes is fully active and has recently released their Debut EP "Malice Unchained", produced, engineered, and mixed by Mike Schaffer of Blatant Disarray, and Mastered by Ken Sorceron of Abigail Williams.
