Since 2006 and after several years in the musical wilderness and constantly pursing other non-musical aspirations, Mark Simon Little has formed Dark Victory in January 2009. Based on demo recordings undertaken in previous sessions with ‘Esquimax’ and John ‘totalbiscuit’ Bain during his time in a professional covers band, Mark had several false starts with previous members who unfortunately left for a variety of reasons.
After a relocation away from Rutland to Lincoln and an aggressive and extensive promotional campaign to recruit further members, Mark utilised his existing industry contacts and internet advertising to secure the current line-up.
Now after the recording of two previously released albums and one previous EP, Mark has finally released ‘what-has-been-in-his-head’ for many years. Having requested many favours from friends old and new, with the release of the 5 track EP ‘Dystopia’ via internet download in April 2011, a musical and philosophical vision has now been finally accomplished after much anguish and self-determination.
A self-produced, digitally recorded and mastered release combining all the musical elements of Mark’s experiences who has previously been a self-employed session musician and voluntary music producer and engineer. The release also demonstrates the vast array of talent within the current line-up of the band in their quest to fulfil a musical and philosophical vision.
Although undertaking a series of performances until early/mid 2012, Dark Victory are already determined to enter the studio again in mid 2012 with a view to a professionally recorded album ready for record company distribution, radio listing, further live appearances and other promotional activities in 2012.
