Formed in the deepest abyss, Consecration hath arisen! Consecration were founded in the year anno 2010 by Chilli, Shane and Daniel Noticing a distinct lack of Death/Doom Metal with a blackened twist in the East Anglian region, and us all having a passion for dark and heavy music, the blueprint for what Consecration was to become was cast. Very soon after the initial discussions Lee and Jordan were added and the line-up was complete.

Consecration recorded two demo tracks on a four track, which after being uploaded to our myspace page, gathered quite a bit of interest and excellent feedback, despite the low quality production. Consecration then entered the Tides Reach Studio at the beginning of September, to record our debut CD. Entitled ‘Gut The Priest’, it is an entirely self released effort, with a running time of over 32 minutes. Comprising 6 tracks of varied tempo Doom Death Metal. Initial feedback has been extremely positive.

Consecration has also produced two T-shirt designs in limited runs, the first of which sold out very quickly.

We have gathered much interest to date, our myspace and facebook profiles, although still in their infancy, have got a good amount of attention, and our name is spreading in the metal underground We have upcoming gigs locally and further afield: One of the biggest is playing with Denounce on their last show in Gravesend, on an impressive all day billing. We have also got a slot supporting Decrepid from London. Many bands, both small and large alike, have shown interest in wanting us to support them, including the mighty Esoteric, Eastern Front, and Ishmael Con-se-cra-tion: verb transitive. Make or declare sacred (to); Dedicate formally to religious purpose; Devote to; a solemn commitment of your life or your time to some cherished purpose (to a service or a goal). Do not be fooled by the name, Consecration are anything but sanctifying. The use of the word, as in the logo; is intended ironically, and the music will prove to be some of the most unholy noise ever witnessed.

Influences include - My Dying Bride, Esoteric, Paradise Lost, Anathema , Opeth, Morbid Angel, alongside many other thrash, doom, death and black metal bands.
