Formed in Eastbourne during the fall of 2008, City of Ashes began as acoustic project between singer Orion Powell and guitarist Steve Vine. After quickly gaining local notoriety, the duo recruited Dan, Dan and later Mike to complete the current line up of the rock/post-hardcore outfit. City of Ashes’ unique sound still maintains nods to those acoustic beginnings whilst their instrumental skill, and highly energetic and personal performances, have already caught the attention of a continually growing fan base across the country.
The band’s current EP “When Black Fuels Blood” is an eclectic roadmap of their journey so far and has gathered attention not only from national sources (Total Guitar’s Matt Parker, MetalTeamUK) but also internationally (Grind Magazine, USA.) The boys have already headlined venues from South Wales’ Sin City to Camden’s Purple Turtle and are being eagerly asked back everywhere they play.
