Originally formed in the Midlands in 2005, Carpathia have spent their time crafting a smorgasmabord of progressive and metal styles into what some have described as being like "a painstakingly constructed car-crash". They have extensively gigged throughout the UK and have no plans to stop anytime soon. Carpathia now have their first full-length release which they are currently in the process of promoting, following several favourable reviews of previous EPs, including one from Metal Hammer.

Carpathia draw their influences from such bands as:
Opeth, Meshuggah, Wintersun, Emperor, Immortal, Akercocke, Dream Theater, Symphony X.
