First formed in 2003, Bloodshot Dawn have evolved from a straight forward, groove orientated death metal band into an unrelenting, hyper speed, thrashing machine. Hailed by Terrorizer as a band that delivers “blistering live shows”, Bloodshot have become a household name in the UK underground.
In 2007, after a number of line up changes and endless practice honing their sound, current members Anderson and McMorran recorded and released their first effort in the form of “Coalition Of Terror”, a two track EP that received positive feedback both critically and around their local metal scene. Driven by this success, Anderson and McMorran sought out musicians for a full time line up that could add to the brutal live shows and match the technical precision on the EP. This lead them to bassist Anthony Ridout who joined the band just after the release. Following this the band then set about playing across the UK in support of the EP, and went on to win the 2009 “Metal To The Masses” competition, playing at Bloodstock Open Air Festival with the likes of influential bands such as 'Carcass', 'Arch Enemy' and 'Kreator'. The band now looked to record more material, recruiting Benjamin Ellis on lead guitar to complete the current line up in late 2009.
A handful of gigs later and Bloodshot Dawn set about recording their follow up to “Coalition” in Spring of 2010. Set for release on February 17th 2011, “Slaves To The Lie” has taken the raw brutality of their first effort and focused existing elements of their sound into an assault of melodic riffs, bone crushing breakdowns, and intense shredding solos. “Slaves To The Lie” will be available worldwide from February 17th, via all major digital distribution websites (iTunes, Amazon, HMV, Spotify...) The EP will also be available as a CD from Bloodshot Dawn's official myspace page.
