I wonder, back in 2000 when they formed, if Bleeding Through ever
thought that by 2012 they'd not only be releasing their 6th album, but it
would be the album of their career? 12 years and getting better all the
time, thats gotta be some kinda record hasn't it?
This album is
definitely heading back to the punk/hardcore place that they started
from and it leaves behind their dalliance with extreme metal that they
seemed to be aiming for with their previous couple of albums.
They're
still hanging on to the gothic touches though, indeed the keyboard line
from tracks like 'Starving Vultures' wouldn't seem out of place in an
up-to-date Hammer Horror flick, but they also don't seem out of place
here either, amongst all the chaos.
All the songs are short (only one
is over 4 minutes) and quite introverted. Song titles like 'The Devil
And Self Doubt' or 'Everything You Love Is Gone', kinda speak for themselves
but they still remain punchy, aggressive and yet otherworldly.
Definitely an album to check out if you're bored of bog standard
metal-core that seems to be everywhere these days.
