Lamb of God - 'Resolution'

From the first riff of album opener 'Straight For The Sun' to the closing scream of 'King Me', Lamb Of God lay out their intentions to take no prisoners. It's riff after riff of anger and disenchantment with the way the world is heading and it's a call to arms for YOU to stand up and do something about it. This is Lamb Of God doing what they do best, if you've not heard them before then this is a good place to start (although I'd give Sacrament a go too)
LoG are obviously happy trying out a few new sounds ('King Me' has an almost operatic, spaghetti western feel at times...) and for the most part it works well. Its still the band we all know and love but with more depths and layers than before. Its almost hard to believe this is their 7th album, the groove is still there, as is the anger. You just know these songs are going to be amazing live, particularly songs like 'The Number Six' with its shout-along refrain of "You Dug Your Own Grave!"
This is a heads down, rush to the finish kind of album, full of speed, anger and power. Long may Lamb Of God continue if they're gonna produce albums of this calibre.
